AudioNotes, Music@Menlo’s innovative series of CD-based preconcert listener guides, offer audiences engaging and entertaining introductions to each festival Concert Program and Carte Blanche Concert. AudioNotes explore the when, why, and how behind the music, highlighted by musical examples and interviews with festival artists. By arming listeners with an informed perspective in advance of the performance, AudioNotes enrich the concert experience and prepare listeners for a rewarding musical journey. AudioNotes CDs are provided free with each advance ticket order. NOTE: This season’s AudioNotes will be available in CD or downloadable-MP3 format. Details and download instructions will be provided once you submit your online order.
Interviews with festival artists have been a hallmark of AudioNotes since its inception: the singular insights of musicians who have lived with and thought deeply about the music featured on Music@Menlo’s concert programs offer listeners a unique perspective on the repertoire. AudioNotes Outtakes, a new component this season, feature excerpts of conversations with festival artists and Artistic Administrator Patrick Castillo that do not appear on AudioNotes CDs/mp3s, offering additional insights and anecdotes on the music of the 2010 festival season.
