"Trios and Trumpets" gathers music from Austria, Hungary, and France. The piano trio is represented by Mozart and Chaminade, and two lighthearted works with trumpet balance the trios: In Martinů’s fanciful "La revue de cuisine", the instruments depict kitchen utensils, with the mirth vividly reflected in Saint-Saëns’s jovial septet.
