Artist Bio
Cellist Sihao He first came into international prominence at age fourteen, winning First Prize at the 2008 International Antonio Janigro Cello Competition in Croatia. He has appeared as both recitalist and as a soloist with leading orchestras and has appeared at a number of chamber music festivals across the United States. In 2020, He was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Bowers Program. Born in Shanghai, China, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings at Mercer University and a master’s degree from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University where he pursues his D.M.A. under Hans Jørgen Jensen. He also served as a faculty member at Mercer University. He is the newest member of the renowned Shanghai Quartet and is a full-time faculty member at the Tianjin Juilliard School.
