This morning at 11:45, the second master class of the festival took place, showcasing the hard work of the Chamber Music Institute participants and their coaches. In front of a Martin Family Hall audience of chamber music lovers on the Menlo School campus, violist Hsin-Yun Huang coached both Young Performers and International Program artists through works by Mendelssohn and Beethoven. In her busy career, Hsin-Yun Huang has featured as a soloiost Berlin Radio Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Taiwan Philharmonic, the Russian State Symphony, Zagreb Soloist International Contemporary Ensemble, and the London Sinfonia.
Later this evening, Music@Menlo patrons heard the final performance of Concert Program II, The Classical Style in the beautiful surroundings of Stent Family Hall. This program of exquisite Classical masterworks was preceded by a Prelude Performance, also in Stent Family Hall, featuring a captivating twentieth-century program of Elgar and Dohnányi. Dohnányi’s exhilarating Serenade in C Major was followed by the contrastingly haunting Piano Quintet in a minor by Elgar, performed by International Program artists.« Master Class with Roberto Díaz   || "Kreisleriana", and the Devil's Violinist »
