Gilbert Kalish at 90: A Celebration

Carte Blanche Concert III

Gilbert Kalish at 90: A Celebration

Pianist Gilbert Kalish’s influence on chamber music composition and performance is profound. Celebrated for his extensive collaboration with contemporary composers such as George Crumb and Charles Ives, he also has a reputation as an outstanding chamber musician, established through his collaborations with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and over thirty years’ partnership with mezzo-soprano Jan DeGaetani. Music@Menlo is deeply fortunate to have Kalish, or “Gil” as we know him, as both a performing artist and a mentor on the Chamber Music Institute faculty.

On August 3, Gil presents a highly personal Carte Blanche Concert, with works of particular importance to him. Due to the high demand for tickets and limited space in the Stent Family Hall, Music@Menlo will also livestream the performance (tickets here).
