Nolan An is a 17 year-old violist who attends Lexington High School in Massachusetts. He currently studies with Anait Arutunian at the New England Conservatory Preparatory Program. As a kid, Nolan played the piano and sang in the Boston Symphony Children’s Choir. At 12 years old, Nolan began studying violin and switched to viola in January of 2023. He is currently enrolled in the CHIPS String Quartet program and is the principal violist of the NEC Youth Symphony. He performed for Music For Food and attended Greenwood Music Camp last summer. Besides Music@Menlo, he is also attending the Bowdoin Music Festival this summer. Aside from music, he is a student leader in his church youth group. Nolan enjoys hanging out with friends, meeting new people, talking about music (jazz, hip-hop, pop, R&B), and watching movies.
