Artist Bio

Bianca Ciubancan, violin

17-year-old violinist Bianca Ciubancan made her solo orchestral debut at age 8 with the Oistrakh Symphony Orchestra. She was a top prizewinner at the Kloster Schoental International Violin Competition and Cooper International Violin Competition. In 2019, she won first prize in the International Grumiaux Violin Competition. Bianca appeared as a soloist internationally, including in Carnegie Hall as a winner of the American Protégé International Competition. Bianca was featured multiple times on NPR’s “From the Top,” in Beverly Hills (2020), as well as virtual events. As a winner of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra's concerto competition, Bianca performed with the orchestra in Orchestra Hall, as well as with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she was awarded 2nd prize at the Musicians Club of Women Awards Competition. Bianca is a rising senior at Northside College Prep. In her free time, Bianca enjoys reading, creative writing, doing math, solving Rubik’s cubes, playing tennis, spending time with her family, and visiting Romania.
