Artist Bio

Ziyue Zeng, piano

Ziyue Zeng, 17, is a junior from Aptos, California. She began to play piano at the age of 6 and has been studying with Dr. Chia-Lin Yang since moving to the United States in 2018. A five-time recipient of Santa Cruz Symphony Muller Scholarship, she has won top prizes in many competitions, including 1st Place in KAMSA, Burlingame Music Club Piano Competition and France Music Competition of les Musicales du Centre, Grand Place in Silicon Valley Music Competition, and winner of Celia Mendez Young Pianists’ Beethoven Competition. She was a performer at the Junior Bach Festival from 2019-2023, has performed as a soloist with Santa Cruz County Youth Symphony in 2022, and will perform with Golden State Youth Orchestra Senior Symphony in 2023. She has performed in masterclasses with Hans Boepple, Jeff LaDeur, John Blacklow, Ronald Brautigam, Sonia Leong, Vladimir Khomyakov, and Anna Dmytrenko, and performed as one of the two featured pianists in the 2022 Annual Sparkling Musicale Concert hosted by the American Beethoven Society. She attended Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Piano Program in the summer of 2022, and will be attending the Southeastern Piano Festival, PianoTexas and Music@Menlo this summer.
