Artist Bio

Lisa Sung, viola

Hailed by the Australian Daily Telegraph as a “viola prodigy,” Lisa Sung has appeared as a concerto soloist at the Sydney Opera House playing the Bartók Concerto, and has played live on WQXR, Medici TV and Sydney radio broadcasts. She is a guest musician with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, she has collaborated with distinguished musicians including Catherine Cho, Mark Kaplan, Joel Krosnick, Joseph Lin, and Paul Neubauer. Her festival appearances include Verbier Academy, Taos, Norfolk, Perlman Chamber Workshop, and IMS Prussia Cove. Sung is currently pursuing her Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory under the tutelage of Kim Kashkashian on a Dean’s Scholarship. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School where she studied with Paul Neubauer and Cynthia Phelps on the inaugural Kovner Fellowship. www.lisasungviola.com.
