Michelle Ross, violin

Hailed as a 'Renaissance Woman' and trained with Itzhak Perlman for over a decade, Michelle Ross is unique as both a solo artist and collaborative visionary. Michelle is the recipient of the 2012 Leonore Annenberg Fellowship Fund for the Performing and Visual Arts. Last season Michelle performed with Maestro Harry Bicket in Zankel Hall, and with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris as soloist and conductor, in Cite de La Musique, Paris. Michelle frequently collaborates with artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Denes Varjon, Joseph Swensen, members of the Juilliard, Guarneri, and Cleveland String Quartets. An artist at Marlboro Music Festival since 2011, Michelle has toured multiple times with Musicians from Marlboro. Festival appearances also include Music@Menlo, Lucerne Festival, Perlman Music Program, Kneisel Hall. Michelle has performed at the Isabella Gardner Museum, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Avery Fisher Hall, Virginia Arts Center, Union College Concert Series, Smith College, Cite de la Musique, Luzerne Hall, Neue Galerie, Arscht Center Miami, Valle de Bravo, Mexico. Michelle is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of 'Music in the Mountains,' a festival in partnership with Summit Powder Mountain, in Eden, Utah. As a composer and improviser, Michelle's work has toured with Aspen Sante Fe Ballet, and has premiered in Lincoln Center's Beyond the Machine Festival, the Baryshnikov Arts Center, and the Joyce Theater. Michelle holds a B.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University and an M.M. from the Juilliard School. She has studied with Dorothy DeLay, Itzhak Perlman, Catherine Cho, Ronald Copes.
