Japan-born Mario Gotoh has distinguished herself in dual roles as a violinist and a violist with an active and remarkably versatile performance style. She has appeared numerous times as soloist and chamber musician across North America, UK, Europe and Asia. Her versatility includes early music on period instruments, contemporary classical music, and shows at Webster Hall's Grand Ballroom, Madison Square Garden, and Barbs. She performs with The Knights, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Ballet Next, among many other ensembles. Mario has served as concertmaster, principal violin/viola in several orchestras. She holds a Dual-Degree Doctor of Musical Arts and M.M. in violin and viola performance from Stony Brook University, and a B.M. and Performance Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Mario is already a passionate teacher of violin, viola and chamber music and has served in this capacity at several institutions: SUNY Suffolk, Manhattan School of Music, Bloomingdale School of Music.
