Lun Li, violin

A native of Shanghai, China, violinist Lun Li has been studying violin for fourteen years. He currently attends the Curtis Institute of Music under the tutelage of Ida Kavafian and is the Jean J. Sterne Fellowship recipient. Traveling between Shanghai and Philadelphia has brought him experience and honors. In 2012, as a result of winning Second Prize in the Second Haydn Chamber Competition in Shanghai, his quartet was invited to perform at the Helsinki Music Centre Festival. He has participated in master classes with Arnold Steinhardt, Zakhar Bron, Midori Goto, and Pierre Amoyal. He joined the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in 2017, where he served as the Concertmaster under conductor Jun Märkl. He has also participated in Taos School of Music, Music from Angel Fire, and the Four Seasons Chamber Music Workshop. Lun Li currently plays a violin made in 1903 by Gustave Adolphe Bernardel, on generous loan from the Rin Collection in Singapore.
