Jason Moon, violin

Violinist Jason Moon attended Menlo School and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College as a student of Wei He. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Music at the Juilliard School in New York under the tutelage of Li Lin and his Master of Music at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles with Martin Beaver. Moon has won numerous competitions, including the Colburn Conservatory Concerto Competition and Ronald Sachs International Music Competition, and was a finalist in the Ysaÿe International Music Competition. He has performed as a soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, Colburn Orchestra, and Peninsula Symphony Orchestra, among others. An avid chamber musician, Moon frequently performs for the Colburn Recovered Voices Initiative and spends most of his summers at chamber music festivals, including Kronberg Academy, Olympic Music Festival, Taos School of Music, and Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival. A keen interest in historically informed performance has allowed him to perform on baroque violin with Juilliard415, the Colburn Baroque Ensemble, and Tesserae Baroque.
