Derek Han

Pianist Derek Han’s elegant, polished, and compelling playing has dazzled audiences across five continents since he launched his international career by winning First Prize and the Gold Medal at the Athens International Piano Competition in 1977. Recent highlights include appearances at the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest with the Camerata Salzburg, performances in Germany and the Netherlands with the Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonic, a UK tour with the Philharmonie der Nationen, and performances with other leading international orchestras. A prolific recording artist, Derek Han has a discography that includes the complete piano concerti of Mozart with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the complete Mozart violin sonatas with violinist Joseph Silverstein. Derek Han serves as Associate Artistic Director of the La Musica International Chamber Music Festival.
