Since becoming the youngest-ever gold medalist in the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition at age seventeen, Hsin-Yun Huang has firmly established herself among the leading violists of her generation. She has appeared as a soloist with the Berlin Radio Symphony, Russian State Symphony, Tokyo Philharmonic, Zagreb Soloists, Bavarian Symphony Orchestra, and the National Symphony of Taiwan, among many others. Hsin-Yun Huang is also an eminent chamber musician, making appearances in numerous international chamber music festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival; the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy; and the Stavanger International Chamber Music Festival in Norway. A member of the world-renowned Borromeo String Quartet from 1994 to 2000, Hsin-Yun Huang is also well-established as a teacher, having served on the faculty at the New England Conservatory, and currently serving on the faculties at the Juilliard School and Mannes College The New School for Music.
