Jorja Fleezanis

In September 2009, Jorja Fleezanis embarked on a new career path as Professor of Orchestral Studies and Violin at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, after holding the post of Concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra for twenty years. Commissioned works for her include Nicholas Maw’s Sonata for Solo Violin; Aaron Jay Kernis’s Brilliant Sky, Infinite Sky, commissioned by the Schubert Club; and John Adams’s Violin Concerto and John Tavener’s Ikon of Eros, both commissioned by the Minnesota Orchestra.
